Bzuco Posted August 3, 2018 Report Share Posted August 3, 2018 Hi, it is possible to assign(in gui or using maxscript) different mat ID to paths when the viewport mode is set to lines? If I add edit spline modifier, all segments have mat ID 1. I need to separate bark, branches, stems, petioles. I can convert every path with right click to editable spline, set different mat ID, but when I change tree shape I need to repeat this procedure again. This feature would help me create fully parametric growfx tree(basic shape) with other tree parts using forestPack (groups of needles, leaves, fruits, flowers,..) => tiny memory footprint, fast parsing render times. Eduard Posted August 5, 2018 Report Share Posted August 5, 2018 Hi Bzuco, Unfortunately Mat ID can be set only for mesh builders, but we can try to add this parameter to the paths so that during the conversion to the spline it's applied automatically.
