How to Add GrowFX Shortcut to Menu Bar?

Recommended Posts

Obviously this is a real nube question, but I don't know how to add the GrowFX shortcut to the main menu bar.  I managed to add Laubwerk and GoZ, but somehow haven't managed to figure out how to add GrowFX.

Hi Richard,

I'm a little confused about the script you sent in regards to my question to adding the GrowFX shortcut.  I have next to zero experience dealing with scripts but is the one you provided something I should copy and paste into a particular folder?  Sorry for being so obtuse but I was hoping for a simple solution.

Hi Daimon,

Ok, first run the following script:

macroScript GrowFX
category:"Exlevel"
internalCategory:"Objects Exlevel"
tooltip:"GrowFX"
buttontext:"GrowFX"
Icon:#("Exlevel",1)
(
   on execute do StartObjectCreation GrowFX
   on isChecked return (mcrUtils.IsCreating GrowFX)
   on isEnabled return okToCreate GrowFX
)

Then open Customize User Interface and create a new menu:

Then add it to the main menu:

Then find Exlevel category a add GrowFX item to the menu:

And close this dialog.

Thanks!

Edward,

Thank you for your thorough answer.  Unfortunately I'm stuck on adding the GrowFX menu to the main menu.  To be honest I'm not sure how to add it altogether,

Just drag and drop there. There will appear a blue line, this is the place where this menu will be inserted.

Thanks!

Eduard,

Sorry for the late response.  Dragging and dropping did the trick for me.  Thank you again for taking the time to answer my question.

I get this error message when trying to run your script:

Hi Terri,

Try to delete this line: Icon:#("Exlevel", 1)

Thanks!
