Terri Brown
Hi guys, Please can someone advise how to model the veins at the back of this leaf (where when I deform the main stem, the veins and the leaf deform with it). It's ok with a texture from far off, but close up views require the geometry itself. Thanks a mil, Terri
Eduard
Hi Terri,You can create this leaf as a separate GrowFX object. Then use it in the Instanced geometry in your plant, with the Deform along path option. If you set up the growth animation for the leaf, you can use the Current time option to create the leaves with different growth phase. If it's not clear, later I can create this leaf for you.Cheers
Terri Brown
do you create only the leaf as a separate object, or the leaf plus veins? I'm just not sure how to get the veins to 'stick' to the back of the leaf like that. If you could create it (simply) that would be awesome. Eduard
Hi Terri, Yes, I created the leaf plus veins. I apologize for the delay! There are some troubles with using Current time and growfx leaf as an operand in the Instanced geometry. You can check it out if you pick Leaf_gfx_animated instead of Leaf_gfx in the settings "Plant_1: B1-> IG_mesh_01", and turn on the Current time. We'll try to fix it as soon as possible... You can see the max file here: CustomLeaf_4.max Cheers
