jscottsmith
I'm trying to prune branches of a growfx object, but I'm stumped. I selected the branches path, then under Direction Modifiers added a Trim modifier. I then ticked the "Trim Lines" button, but I'm unable to select any branches. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Eduard
I checked in the new version and it works fine. Please send your scene file, maybe you did something wrong? Also, what is your version of 3dsmax? Thanks
jscottsmith
MAX 2014x64. It's entirely possible I've done something wrong. I'm very new to GrowFX and it has been a very slow start trying to find my way around. Client wants me to remove lower limbs for view and access. This is the first tree I've made, so it might be a disaster. Any suggestions are welcome. File is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mguycj8f85kben1/Ironwood.max?dl=0 Scott Smith J. Eduard
Strange, but there it works fine: Ironwood_1.max Cheers
jscottsmith
Well, I'm stumped. Did you apply the modifier to Branches1 or Branches2+? Scott Smith J. Scott Smith Visual Designs, inc https://jscottsmith.com
Eduard
Branches1 of course, as shown in the screenshot. Just this path already had an empty Trim modifier, and I thought that you can't use it. Or do you'd like to apply on Branches2+ ? Thanks
jscottsmith
Yep. That's what I wanted. I am unable to select branches to add to that trim modifier. (Or erase modifier) Also, I am unable to load the file you posted above. It says that it was created with a newer version of GrowFX. I am running 1.9.8 SP3 Scott Smith J. Eduard
Yes, I've created this file in the new version 1.9.9 Beta. You can download it from MyGrowFX. But I can check it in 1.9.8 SP3 if you want.
