2GStudio
hi, i am having a problem when doing animation with moving object from grow fx. and some of it also having problem with static object from grow fx. when i am doing animation, i havent convert the growfx model to mesh or even proxy, when i am rendering the animation, some of the plants missing. frame 0, missing this part, frame 1 missing that other part. do i have to convert everything to vray proxy ? is it possible convert the growfx model to editable mesh or spline and still get the wind effect ? because i have tried to convert to editable mesh, but the wind effect was gone. thank you for your help. Eduard
Hi, Please check the Convert to mesh checkbox in the Preference parameters rollout. It must be enabled before converting to Vray proxy. If it didn't help, please send us your growfx model... Thanks!

Eduard
Yes, that's right. When converting to editable mesh any animation will be lost... Cheers!
austingrd
Thanks, so just set the wind effect again and this should be fine?
2GStudio
edu, is there any chance to convert to editable mesh and still have the animation effect ?
Sebastian Appel
In that case you need to bake the animation into the vertices. You can use the point cache modifier inside 3ds max for that. http://vimeo.com/16117633 if you are using Vray, you may also consider the Vray Proxy with animation checked on. Can I ask why you would like to have the animation stored in the mesh?
2GStudio
i am thinking to sell 3d plant in mesh. its hard to sell in vray proxy version, to big files when using vray proxy to sell
Sebastian Appel
Maybe a fbx file will do?
3DMK
i am thinking to sell 3d plant in mesh. its hard to sell in vray proxy version, to big files when using vray proxy to sell You will find a Vray proxy is approx the same size as a mesh. All a Vray proxy does is convert the mesh to a different format for easier use in vray. The amount of vertices is exactly the same. Sebastian Appel
I think the only way to sell your model with a small file size is by selling it as a growfx object since Vray proxy and point cache stores all the frames of your animation into your models vertices and that is going to create huge files.
