Hey I have been working on a project with several students in class. I created animated grass and for somer reason when I convert the animated grass into an editable poly the animation is no longer available. I created the animated grass for use in a UDK project. How would I be able to convert the animated grass into an editable poly, and export the animated grass into UDK so that the animation works. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I really appreciate it!

I would suggest trying to put a POINT-CACHE on top of the GrowFX object & recording the animation first.

Once the point-cache has recorded the animation -do the following

-Cut the Point cache from the modifier stack

-Convert to editable mesh or poly

-Then past the point cache back onto the modifier stack

Now you should have an editable mesh that animates via the point-cache......This may help the exporter to recognise the animation.

Hope this helps

actually i have created an animated tree using growfx....and the time i convert it to mesh all the animation is gone...

i want the animated trees for a scene...and if i use it as growfx its too heavy...

i want to convert it in vray proxy with the animation...

Ok, what is your animation? Wind? If yes, please move all your wind modifiers to the After Mesh Modifiers, it will make the calculation of the entire animation more easier. Then try to convert into animated vray proxy as usual...

Cheers
