ptrain03
Awesome program, love the new meta mesh! Just a few things that would be nice to see implemented: 1. Greater control over the individual positions in the path position distributor. It is nice to be able to control all of their properties at once, such as length, angle bend, etc. however, if i am trying to copy a specific tree from a photo or trying to get a branch in a specific place to fill in gaps, it is some times difficult. I could do this with multiple paths, but it makes things very complicated. Maybe an override option for the individual positions would be nice. 2. maybe a few more presets for the leaf mesh. I have had some difficulty getting accurate outlines for multi lobed leaves like oaks or maples. I have tried modelling a few in max and using them as instanced meshes, however, they are not as easy to manipulate within growFX as the native leaf mesh. I have tried using the length graph, however it doesn't always get me the shape I need easily. 3. Some way to trim individual paths without having to use object slice. (although for less specific opperations object slice is great ) This may be a hard one. 4. More control over instanced mesh positions and scales. for some reason every time I have used instanced meshes the scale and pivot points change dramatically from the pivot point and scale of the original max object. Is their a way to fix this? Thats all I've got. Great program !!!! gets better all the time
Eduard
Hi Paul, Thanks for your wishes! It's are not complicated, and I think we'll soon be able to implement them Great program !!!! gets better all the time Thanks a lot! Yes, we really want our product was the best Cheers
ptrain03
Just thought of something else, In the path position distributor, is there any way to make the currently selected position change color so that you can see which position you are adjusting? Eduard
Ok, we'll try to implement it, I think it's not a problem. Ie you have several distributors of one path, and when you change one of them, the lines in the viewport must somehow be highlighted in a selected color? Guest Jorge Ham
Is there anyway you can develop this program for Maya ?? It would be great. I saw your gallery and I'm amazed. Bad thing I like Maya better than 3ds Max, but if you could develop this for Maya as well that would be like a dream come true and I would definitely buy it. Yes, we too want it, but quickly develop it is not possible. We need to change more than 60% of source code, basically it the UI. Maybe later we'll start this work... Guest Moe
If I could just throw in a few more suggestions... First let me say that this is THE plugin for plant creation. It's ingenious and what I've been waiting for for YEARS! My suggestions are as follows: Allow a means by which to vary the coloring on leaves. We have random materials that can shift hue, saturations, and values per object in a variety of ways such as object ID, material ID, face ID, etc, but there is no way to easily incorporate these features with GrowFX. Basically, it would be nice to have some manner in which to randomize leaf color slightly for a more realistic appearance. Something similar to the hand-drawing features one can find in the SpeedTree modeling package would be awesome. Just an idea. I realize it can be done with spline paths, but thought I'd throw it out there anyway. More deform-ability with instanced meshes. A global "Percentage of Paths" controller. That's about it. Your plugin rocks, you rock! Keep up the awesome work, and I can't wait to see what else Exlevel makes!

Basically, it would be nice to have some manner in which to randomize leaf color slightly for a more realistic appearance. This feature already exists! You can look at the "Chaos Material ID", here are some screenshots: [*] Something similar to the hand-drawing features one can find in the SpeedTree modeling package would be awesome. Just an idea. I realize it can be done with spline paths, but thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Ok, we'll think how to add a similar feature. [*] More deform-ability with instanced meshes. At the moment GrowFX allows to deform an objects along the direction paths. What more deformation you would like to have? [*] A global "Percentage of Paths" controller. Ok, we can add this parameter. That's about it. Your plugin rocks, you rock! Keep up the awesome work, and I can't wait to see what else Exlevel makes! Thanks again!
