Leaves - Wind animation

Recommended Posts

hi,

I've just made my first tree and want to animate it for a close shot, but I'm having some troubles with the animation of the leaves. Some of them flip directly from 0 to 180º. I've already tried animating it using both "vector direction" and "wind animation" direction modifiers.

Have already happened something similar to some of you?

I cannot realize what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance

Your leaves are on the verge of rotation, since you are using "Orientation for leaves". So the slightest movement of the branches leads to flip of the leaves...

For the branches B_1 -> VecOrient_dir_03 I set "Y orientation", accordingly for B_2 -> PathDistr_01 -> Distributor in points -> Angle axis = 90, and added VecOrient_dir the same as for B_1. This lined the leaves on the tips B_1 and B_2.

I've also improved your tree, and set up an animation by using Wind animation modifier, instead Vector_dir.

I sent you the modified tree...

Cheers

When adding the wind modifier, must you add this to each path individually? for example to get the brances and leaves moving, you would add a wind modifier on each path? Would it be possible to update your wind tutorial or post a sample tree with wind?

I have a deadline end of the week, little pushed for time.

Many thanks

Yes, you need to add a wind modifier for each path that you want to be animated. For example, for conifer needles is not necessary to add a wind modifier...

Here shows in detail how to make a wind animation for a tree: http://exlevel.com/t...Wind_Animation/

If you have problems, send us your model to support@exlevel.com, and we'll help you...
