I'm really happy to announce my first big UE4 project. The Oak Forest. I worked really hard about 1 year on this project. The asset contains 22 different trees, 6 small plants and 6 photo scanned trunks. All trees have a realistic wind animation (light / strong breeze, mixed wind). You can change the wind animation speed easy on 1 parameter (UE4). All trees have LODs + Imposter. All tree models (except the grass) were made in Growfx. Hi I wondered if anybody would be willing to share tips for creating foliage for Unreal Engine. I'm about to start off experimenting. I'm concerned about ... 1. total poly count 2. whether to use meshes or opacity mapped leaves 3. how I should set up groups of leaves and branches so they're easy to deal with and efficient in UE Thanks.
