Hi guys, i am exporting an animated plant from max as a vray proxy and importing into modo as vray proxy. At certain frame the plant explode(scales randomly, please check below image/video, also this explode is only visible with motion blurr ON). Dont know why is this happening, when i exported the same animated plant as alembic file and imported into modo with vray proxy it all looks perfect at all frames. I would have used alembic as proxy to work around now, but problem with alembic is that, each plant generate its unique material IDs and when i have example 3 plants having same materials, each of plant after export gets unique material name leading to 3 duplicate materials in the scene.Does anyone have faced such issue?,let me know if there is any workaround. Also i have exported exported from latest max 2021 and latest vray on max Render.mp4 viewport.mp4
Hi im using growfx for about a few hours in my first project with it. Im making a root plant to visualize the product of my client. The problem is that i copy and paste a second branch to the root and then growfx tell me that i need to increase the limit of face or dense or whatever. I did this and then growfx just stop to working. I tried with control + z a few times but is not working anymore. The problem is that i reopened the scene and 3ds max but now 3ds max is stucked in the growfx progress bar and the scene is not opening anymore lol. I think that if you can help me with this it will take a lot more of time of what i need to create a new root but anyway im uploading the scene. Roots.max
Hi All! I'm having trouble creating a realistic looking wind loop. The aim is to have a nice gentle breeze rustling the leaves and a little bit of sway in branches, but I cant find the right balance of flexibly, stiffness and wind speed. I'm using a 200 frame loop to keep my animated proxy files to a reasonable size. This means I cant use Perturb Speed or Vector Can some one please advise "weather' its better to have: High wind speed with low flexibility and high stiffness Or Low wind speeds with lower stiffness and high flexibility See images and videos for more detail. Image 1 Wind Speed 0cm: I want to have this form swaying gently Image 2 Wind Speed 50cm: Tree form is ok but not great and wind is very subtle. Even with very slow camera movement it will be barley visible in an animation (see video below) Image 3 Wind Speed 100cm: Tree looks like its in a hurricane but only moving slowly (see video below) Max 2014 file attached. Thanks in advance! Wind_help_gfx.zip
Hello, I've recently started learning GrowFX in past week, and It's amazing plugin with so much potencial. At the moment I'm still running on a demo (since I have to save up a little more money for educational licence ). I came to the point, where I'm struggling with a difficult problem - creating uneven branches on second level. Since level feature doesn't look very user friendly to me, Im creating my branch levels with 2 paths, then generating twigs, and then scattering it with instanced geometry of needles. Problem is, that even though I'm trying to use random count, with value 2, its more likely that all my branches dissappear instead of randomisation between 2 and 1 in count. Or else - I only get 2 all the time and sometimes on, but very rare. This is an illustration of what I'm trying to get - Is there any simple way to achieve it? By the way- here is where I'm so far Thanks for any help or advice! Cheers!
