Hello everybody, I made 3 versions of an acer palmatum and I was very happy with it. But today I want to open my file (wich I attached in this topic) and it's crashing when it's loading the growfx file. Can somebody try to open the file, maybe its working on your computer. And if so, I would be very happy when you send me the file (maybe a different file name or something?) I am using 3d 3d max 2019. And by the way it is not a virus, just beautifull trees:) Thanks! acer palmatum definitief.max

Hey Ptrain, One problem solved. The material id of the instanced object was wrong. After i set it to five it worked properly. The scale is still a problem also after a reset of the xform. In the end i can scale it in the modifier window. But i am curious what is going wrong. I attached the max file, probably something simple. Hope you can help me with this last thing. Thanks already! Hello, I am trying to texture my instance geometry, till now it failed:( The option "material id" is missing in the instance geometry window and it automatically attached the leave materials (id 2 and 3) and i want id 5 I've got also some troubles with scale. Attached there is a picture with some explanation. what am i doing wrong? Greetings, Martijn Brands

Hello guys, Sorry for my late reaction. The cropping tool is working fine and is a decent way to achieve my target, thanks for that! Still i am curious if it's possible to do it with a instanced geometry. I saw they doing it in a tutorial of itoo software, where they had cut out the leaves of a quixel atlas. i've attached the max file. kind regards, Martijn Brands fern_cropping images.max

Hello everybody, I am trying to deform my leaves as an instance geometry along the splines. As you see in the attached printscreen, the leaves are placed straight. Does somebody know what i am doing wrong? Thanks already!
