We need to cut/trim the lower branches of the trees. The procedure should be straightforward, but when rebuilding the mesh, the result is the same as the original mesh, although I can clearly see that the paths were erased. I'm a student in Architecture and I started to work with 3dsMax few months ago. As many before me I guess, I always struggle with plants in my school project. But finaly I discovered your software which looks fantastic!
Unfortunatly I don't have it. I saw the 30 days trial, but with my lectures and work to submit I don't have enought time with 30 days to explore the software properly.
So I wondered if there is a Student version of GrowFX? (like the one year student licence of Autodesk for their softwares)
It is for non-commercial use, I just would like to practice and get use to it before I enter in the professionnal world.

Im modelling all trees with Growfx in 3ds max and find it hard to translate to Houdini.. The way to build the trees in growfx is in many ways like Houdini with splines and meshing but i find it hard to understand houdini.. does anybody know a way to import meshes from high poly Max GFX files to Houdini so i can make use of all trees i have on disk. This is for making use of the new features in ue 5.7 with with nanite assembly instannses USD schemas that kan render billions of polys. Maby a plugin could have been possible?

I have exported the gfx files to meshes and splines in a hiearchy but the skelleton from max splines in houdini turns out weird.

I havent found a way to bind these Api USD schemas in 3ds max.

Anybody know a way?

Upon opening the scene, however, it gives me the error as presented in the title.

The GrowFX node still exist in the scene, and as far as I can tell the node information is all still there. It simply won't display the GrowFX nodes.

 

I'm 100% confident that there was never an XRef file in the scene (I don't work with XRef). I need this scene to function properly again to generate new variants and lower poly ones as well. Is there a way to get this functional again? Thanks in advance!
