Greetings :)

How hard would it be to show branch positions on certain graph interfaces ? This would be especially helpful under "path position" That way you could quickly change the length, angle, etc. of individual branches without having to add a bunch of vertices and guess where the branches are.

is this something that can be accessed with maxscript ?

also, in highlight mode would it be difficult to make the individual path positions highlight separately? sometime I have trouble determining which path position I have selected.

Hi Paul,

No, maxscript doesn't access for this.

To create a graph interfaces, we use the ICurveControl from Max SDK. And there we can't add anything.

But now we're developing a new user interface, and there will be own graph UI. Then we'll be able to add your suggestions.

On your screenshot you are showing the graph for the steps, how it relates with "path position"? I think these positions we can only show on the graphs are related with the path position, parameters such as Density, Turn axis, etc.

Hi Eduard :)

Thanks for the response.

Yeah I grabbed the wrong graph. Your right, It would only be useful for path position affects.

any idea on a timeframe for the new interface ? just curious :)

also, one othe quick question. When a grow fx object is converted to an editable spline the spline knots behave as a corner only, even if their property is changed to smooth. Its not a big deal, I was just mentioning it to see if their was a simple answer.

I hope the new interface will be this year :)

Ok, regarding the spline knots we'll fix it.

so I found the "show x points on the paths " check box under preferences.

When density or turn axis graph is activated the x's will show up on the path that the currently selected paths are distributed upon (which is very helpful !)

is there any way to get the x s to show up on this path (instead of the currently selected) when you use a graph to represent the "factor" in the path position is affecting the current paths length, angle, etc. ? at present when the factor graph is chosen the x 's will only show up on the currently selected path.

Thanks :)

Hi Paul,

Ok, we'll try to add this feature...

Eduard,

Would this new interface allow Load/Save functions for curves?

Thanks.

Yes, of course! It's not yet implemented, but we'll add support for save/open of the all curves like a max curves.

+1 on this. I'd like to see this considered too.
