RE: Vertex Colour example

Hi All,

Here is a quick test of the new vertex colour feature in 1.8 .
It certainlly gives much better control of colour variation than the Random ID parameter.
Thanks again for the awesome update Eduard.....using vertex colours is not only great looking but a HUGE time saver when it comes to preparing the materials.

Cheers
jamie

Here is another Quick example of the Awesome new Vertex Colours option.

By the way Eduard.....would there be a way to impliment a blending mode such as multiply/add to the individual VC controls???
It's great that you can blend the different VC controls but I find they tend to get a bit washed out when you try & blend. [It seems the percentage setting fades out like a layer with opacity in photoshop???
Would be great to have basic blending modes to get stronger colours & even more control.
Cheers

Ok, we'll add these blending modes :)
I thought about this, but we're in a hurry to completing this version, and I was not sure of the need to add these modes.

Look at "Palm 1" from our plants library. There you'll see how the leaves change their color. Also see how to set up the material for the leaves. There uses Mix map on the diffuse slot, which uses the Vertex color map. Also you can use the Blend material...

If you have any questions, please ask.

Later we'll make a detailed tutorial for this feature.

Cheers
